Toasty warm, and unbelievably lightweight!
Such great value, amazing warmth to weight ratio, has been a game changer on the family tramping trips with space and weight savings.
This is one of the lightest bags for its warmth rating on the market: at just 572 grams, the -3°C version is unbeatable. We’ve used technical know-how and quality materials to keep it warm and practical as well as super light: 3D, vertical V-baffles filled with 800-850 loft Hydrophobic Down; a full zip allows venting while the box foot prevents cold spots; and there’s a draft tube, three-quarter hood and internal chest drawcord.
The Nitrous is also versatile. It’s available in three warmth ratings and three sizes. Other features include super light, downproof by construction and breathable 10 denier Vapour Vent fabric and a zip protector on the YKK zip.

Temp Ratings
One Planet sleeping bags are rated using the international standard for sleeping bag performance, ISO 23537-1. (This is a revised version of European Standard EN 13537.) This means every sleeping bag has two ‘real world’ and one extreme rating. To determine what temperature might be most suitable for you see our technical pages.
Ethically sourced down
Our down is ethically sourced, harvested and cleaned before purchase, with both the down and our supplier passing independent International Down and Feather Laboratory (IDFL) audits relating to ethical traceability. This means that the white down and feathers we purchase are from animals that haven’t been live plucked or force-fed at any point during the supply chain.

Tested it last night. 6c when I went to bed. Felt cold in this bag. Added second layer of merino and down jacket. Woke up cold at midnight, 3c. Stayed cold all night. 0c in the morning.
This bag is probably fine for camping by the beach in summer but should not be rated -3c.
Thanks for reaching out with your feedback on the One Planet Nitrous and sorry to hear it didn't meet your expectations. We'd just like to clarify that the temperature ratings on One Planet sleeping
bags are third party tested to the identical standards (ISO 23537-1) as nearly all major brands on the NZ market. This ensures consistency and ease of comparison between different brands and sleeping bag models across the board. It's important to note that multiple bodily and environmental factors can affect how cold you feel inside any brand of sleeping bag - A fully insulated sleeping mat is a must have for any cold weather camping, aswell as moisture wicking baselayers to ensure sweat doesn't get trapped directly on the surface of the skin and ruin thermal efficiency.
Does the job in all three seasons, really light and very compact
It is the best! Very lightweight but kept me warm in the Richmond Range overnight. Absolutely recommend.
Fly camping for the night with my indicating dog in the scrub on the top of the range, was supposed to get 1mm rain but ended up with 5mm. The wind picked up and was blowing the rain under my fly. Camp mat decided to have a hole in it and went flat 3 times during the night. Only time i woke up was to the mat being flat. Had a puddle of water in the foot box of this bag in the morning, mat was soaked and flat. Was still nice and warm and had a pretty good sleep, definitely recommend this bag especially considering the weight and packability.
